Montes Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenere Limited

Montes Limited Selection Cabernet Sauvignon – Carmnre is sourced from Montes’ two estate vineyards located in Apalta and Marchige. The Finca Apalta Estate vineyard boasts diverse soils, with some areas influenced by the Tinguiririca River and others shaped by mudslides and debris from the surrounding mountains. Generally, the soils are deep on the plains and shallower at the foot of the mountains and in higher elevations. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted on moderate slopes at the mountain’s base, where the soils are shallow and exhibit a highly variable texture. In contrast, the Carmnre vines thrive in the flatter areas, where the soils are deeper.

Marchige features a flatter landscape with low hills and moderate slopes. The soils in this region are relatively shallowsometimes no more than 60 cm deepfeaturing moderate clay content and excellent water retention capabilities. Both the Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmnre vineyards are predominantly located in these flatter areas.

Tasting Notes
This wine presents an intense purplish-ruby red color, accompanied by an expressive and perfumed nose featuring aromas of fresh red and black fruits. Additional warm notes of red peppers, nutmeg, tobacco, and coffee enhance the bouquet. On the palate, it is balanced with fresh acidity, and the tannins are perfectly rounded, providing structure and volume to the wine’s long finish.
