Alta Vista 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Great wines are made from the grapes of unique places. Alta Vistas 516 acres of estate vineyards are among the best terroirs of Mendoza, at 3,200 feet elevation and higher. Work performed on every vineyard is tailored to each grape variety via specific treatments called Terroir Management. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon completes a short pre-fermentation maceration to enhance optimal color and aromas while avoiding the extraction of harsh tannins. A 10-day post-fermentation maceration enhances structure and round tannins. Half the wine is aged for 12 months in 100% French oak barrels, before an additional 6 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes

Red color with violet and ruby hues. It is complex and intense in the nose, with hints of herbs -characteristic of this variety- and reminiscent of green bell pepper. In mouth, it has structure and the typical tannin concentration of Cabernet grapes coexisting in perfect harmony with the tannins of the oak.
