K Vintners 2020 The Boy Grenache
Named after the song, Im the Boy by French musician, Serge Gainsbourg. The line, Im the boy who can enjoy invisibility is on the back label of the wine. Charles identified with this song and the lyrics when he was becoming more well known in Washington and discovered that he couldnt go into a store or restaurant without being recognized. The label speaks for itself with the words The Boy being nearly invisible. Charles wants invisibility.

Tasting Notes
Current & Past Scores 98 Points, James Suckling This is perfumed, with dried strawberry bush, ripe cherry, star anise, black cardamom and spiced orange peel. Lots of dried flower undertones. Its medium- to full-bodied with layers of tight but juicy tannins and bright acidity cutting through. Its so alive and vibrant, with cocoa dusted red berries jumping out of the glass. It shows depth and power, but in an elegant way, with a delicate, ethereal feel. Drink or hold. 91 Points, Eric GuidoVinous …lifts from the glass with a dusty floral mix of crushed blackberries and white pepper. This is round and vividly fruity on the palate with brisk acids that balance nicely, as savory herbal tones resonate throughout. The Boy tapers off with subtle grippy tannins, leaving nuances of licorice and exotic spice to linger. I love the balance here. 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (v2019)
