2022 Le Grappin Les Greves Beaune Premier Cru, France

From a rare parcel of Chardonnay mid-slope in Beaunes most famous climat, and adjacent to Bouchard Pre et Filss monopole Les Vignes dEnfant Jesus, these 50-year-old vines face south on a perfect incline for sunlight interception and drainage. Less than 1% of Les Grves is planted to Chardonnay, and there are only five producers left who make a white Les Grves. It is an honor to be one of them!

Hand-picked, and slowly pressed over several hours. The juice was chilled and oxidised in tankfor 24 hours and then racked to a two 500L barrels and a 220L Wine Globe (a barrel sizedglass demijohn) for fermentation by indigenous yeasts without SO2, enzymes nor nutrients.Aged on full lies , without stirring or Spring racking, for eighteen months before bottling.Unfined, lightly filtered and bottled under DIAM 10.
