Firkin Original starts its life as the signature London Dry style gin recipe that is rested in Oak whisky casks for several weeks. It is during this resting time that the colour of the gin changes to an alluring golden hue and the delicate notes of toffee, caramel, vanilla and sweet oak are infused into the spirit The result is a delicious sippable spirit. There is a lovely balance between the flavours of the base spirit, botanicals and the wood. Just the way an aged gin should be. Bottled at 46% abv, each batch having its own completely unique cask character

Product Description

Starting as recently as 2014, the distillers at Firkin decided that they could and should experiment with aging Gin just as much as whiskies do. Thus they began to experiment with different casks to age their Edinburgh based Gin in. Once you realise this, you begin to understand why Firkin’s Gins are some of the most flavorsome on the market. All the Gins are given the care due to them thanks to only 250 bottles being created in each cask batch. No wonder they have won so many awards so quickly!
