Recanati 2017 Wild Carignan Reserve

An impressive and powerful Mediterranean wine, Marselan is a cross between the wild Grenache and the aristocratic and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, which originated at the start of the 1960s in the South of France. Relatively new in Israel, Recanati Winery unveiled the first harvest of this powerful variety in 2012. The Marselan grapes are largely gathered at the beginning of the season to preserve their taste, acidity balance, strong color, and stunning array of aromas. This certified Kosher wine is an outstanding accompaniment to grilled red meats, poultry, risottos, and mushroom-based dishes. Deep ruby red in color, with a complex nose of earthy notes and a unique flowery scent. Round tannins and tastes of berries and Mediterranean herbs, this is a full-bodied wine with a viscous texture and chocolate nuances, notable for its power in both acidity and tannins.
